be an E.M.F.
If I e-mailed you a picture would you
be willing to try and identify it.
Right now I am at a dead end trying to get the proper identification

Comments[115]: My grandmother Grace told me when I was a little boy about the E M F tourer her husband bought. She called it the "Every Mechanical Fault". I believe they traded it for a Willy's Knight saloon.
I have the radiator emblem. Is it nickel?

Comments[114]: Love your car! I personally don't have a classic car of any type (yet), but do belong to a local car club that does a lot of fund-raising (namely, a big car show in July). I also do a lot of history/genealogy, & have come across this particular car in a lot of the research I do here in Oregon. Seems the locals really liked that car back in the day.

Comments[112]: Your site is terrific! My compliments again!
The EMF 30 that I bought from Hugh Holbrock was charred in the fire at Hugh's former museum this past fall. I have now gotten through the issues related to insurance settlement etc and am going to sell the car. it s listed on Hemmings on line and craigslist in Chicago and Cincinnati. The car is still intact although the paint is destroyed and the brass will require replating. The leather top is badly damaged but enough remains to create a pattern to make the replacement top. The wood portions of the car will require refinishing, the windsheild and headlamps are cracked. The engine still turns over easilly. I have determined that I am unable to do a proper restoration, and am offering the car for sale. I will send you a couple of photos just FYI.

Comments[111]: A very informative site - and the effort and information very much appreciated. I have recently acquired a Flanders 20 (engine no 68487 - chassis no ? where do I look please?) presented as a depot hack (or in English a shooting brake. How can identify the car as US or Canadian built? - Look forward to hearing from you - THanks Damian

Comments[104]: writing a short article for Unique Cars magazine on a 1909/10 model owned by Bruce Wright in Brisbane. You may know of the car. Your selection of old adverts is very useful as background and I will mention your site in the story.

Comments[100]: I found the tip on removing tarnish interesting and will try it. It has been my experience in restoring brass hub caps that trying to remove even the smallest of dents will result in cracking of the brass unless the cap is first annealed by heating it up with a torch to almost a dull red condition and then plunging it in cold water. The EMF was built in Detroit between the years of 1908 and 1912 by the Everitt Metzger Flanders Co. The 1908 - 1910 hub caps are the same size but plain with no name.
